Man arrested on weapons charges in Hoosick

HOOSICK, NY — State Police arrested a Hoosick Falls man on weapons charges following a traffic stop on Cottrell Road.

Michael S. Martin, 46, of Hoosick Falls, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony, and unlawful possession of certain ammunition feeding devices, a class B misdemeanor.

Troopers stopped Martin’s vehicle at about 10:42 p.m. May 4, 2026, for a vehicle and traffic law violation.

During the investigation, troopers located and seized an illegally possessed handgun and multiple high-capacity magazines from within the vehicle.

Martin was transported to State Police barracks in Brunswick for processing.

He was arraigned at Hoosick Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
