NORWOOD, MA — A man wanted on multiple sexual assault charges was arrested in Maryland after fleeing Massachusetts during an investigation.
Detective Hoyle of the Norwood Police Department began investigating a sexual assault case involving Osirys Martinez-Montoya in February 2026.
The suspect and victim have a prior known relationship.
Martinez-Montoya became aware of the investigation and fled Massachusetts during the course of the investigation.
Detective Hoyle obtained an arrest warrant on March 20, 2026, charging Martinez-Montoya with aggravated statutory rape of a child, indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or over, witness/juror/police/court official intimidation, enticing a child under 16, and assault and battery.
Detective Hoyle worked with the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section to locate and apprehend Martinez-Montoya.
Investigators located him in Maryland through their coordinated efforts.
Agents from the U.S. Marshals Service and members of the Prince William County Police Department took Martinez-Montoya into custody as a fugitive from justice on April 24, 2026.
Detective Hoyle and Detective Marchant transported Martinez-Montoya back to Massachusetts on Thursday, where he was booked at the Norwood Police Department.
He is being held pending arraignment in Dedham District Court.
