CLARK, NJ — Police conducted an e-bike enforcement detail on May 2 at Clark Commons and other areas of the township.
The detail was supplemented by officers from the Patrol Division and detectives from the Detective Bureau, according to Director Patrick Grady.
This was the second proactive enforcement detail conducted this spring and a continuation of similar details conducted in the summer of 2025.
Officers focused on education of new laws that go into effect in July and enforcement of reckless operation, riding in prohibited areas, and failure to adhere to traffic laws.
As a result of the details, 16 curbside warnings were issued, 8 juveniles were taken into short term custody, 16 summonses were issued, 4 e-bikes were impounded, and one adult e-bike rider was arrested following a foot pursuit.
The Clark Police Department reminds all e-bike operators to understand and follow New Jersey laws, operate responsibly, and remain mindful of pedestrians and other motorists.
