PROVIDENCE, RI — A Providence man was arrested on forgery and false document charges following a traffic stop on Route 146.
Todd D. Askew, 48, of Providence, was taken into custody at 5:21 p.m.
He was charged with forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates and giving false documents to agent, employee, or public official.
Askew was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks and processed.
He was arraigned by a justice of the peace and later transported to the ACI Men’s Intake as a bail violator.
In a separate incident at 6:24 p.m., troopers arrested Connor Galligan, 27, of Manville, for reckless driving and other offenses against public safety, first offense.
The arrest was also the result of a motor vehicle stop on Route 146 in Providence.
Galligan was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and arraigned by a justice of the peace.
He was released with a notice to appear in Sixth Division District Court.
At 1:08 a.m., troopers arrested Joseph Mullen, 41, of Smithfield, for possession of a controlled substance Schedule I-V.
