HALFMOON, NY — A 66-year-old man faces felony and misdemeanor charges following a traffic stop Thursday night.

Michael O. Coleman, of Halfmoon, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. on Dunsbach Road after deputies stopped his vehicle for failure to obey a traffic control device and moving from lane unsafely.

Coleman is accused of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition and allegedly refused a chemical test.

He is also charged with tampering with physical evidence, a class E felony, for allegedly turning a video camera in the Halfmoon substation away from him in an effort to suppress evidence that would be used in an official proceeding.

Coleman was additionally cited for refusing to take a prescreen breath test at the request of a police officer, moving from lane unsafely and failing to obey a traffic control device.

He was released on appearance tickets at the direction of Halfmoon Town Court Judge Joseph V. Fodera pending court proceedings.
