BOSTON, MA — A man was arrested on drug trafficking charges in the Back Bay neighborhood Saturday afternoon following a brief struggle with police.
Keith Curtis, 40, of Athol, was taken into custody at approximately 3:50 p.m. May 2, 2026, in the area of 700 Boylston Street.
Members of the District D-14 Brighton Drug Control Unit were conducting surveillance on Curtis as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
Curtis had two active warrants at the time of his arrest.
Officers observed Curtis ingesting drugs through a glass pipe as they approached him and two other individuals.
Curtis pushed an officer and attempted to flee as officers walked toward the group.
A brief struggle ensued during which Curtis dropped a small pouch on the ground before slipping out of his jacket and fleeing.
Additional officers on scene immediately apprehended Curtis.
A search of Curtis yielded approximately 32 grams of fentanyl.
The two other individuals were issued summonses for drug possession.
Curtis is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of trafficking class A drugs and resisting arrest.
