BOSTON, MA — A traffic stop in Dorchester led to the arrest of a man and the recovery of a loaded firearm and ammunition Thursday night.
Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force conducted the traffic stop at about 9:30 p.m. April 30 in the area of Warren Street and Deckard Street.
Officers observed a motor vehicle speed through a red light while following a Boston EMS vehicle with emergency lights and sirens active on Warren Street.
The vehicle was stopped at the intersection of Warren Street and Deckard Street.
An inquiry of the operator revealed an active warrant out of Roxbury District Court for charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and other firearm-related offenses.
The operator was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody.
A search of the towed motor vehicle led to the recovery of a firearm underneath the driver’s seat.
The firearm was determined to be a Taurus G2C 9mm loaded with eleven rounds of live ammunition.
Officers also recovered a second magazine containing ten rounds of live ammunition inside a backpack on the passenger’s seat.
Justice Tucker, 27, of Roxbury, is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, Carrying a Firearm without a License, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
Tucker was also issued a Massachusetts Uniform Citation for violations of the auto laws.
