COLCHESTER, VT — A Burlington man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after being clocked at 90 mph on Interstate 89, according to Vermont State Police.
Troopers observed a vehicle traveling well in excess of the posted 65 mph speed limit at approximately 9:41 p.m. April 29, 2026.
The vehicle’s speed was confirmed by radar to be 90 mph in the 65 mph zone on Interstate 89 northbound at mile marker 95.5.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the operator was identified as Jervon T. Montgomery, 28, of Burlington.
While speaking with Montgomery, troopers detected indicators of impairment.
His driver’s license was also criminally suspended, police said.
After an investigation, Montgomery was arrested on multiple charges including suspicion of DUI.
Montgomery was processed at the Williston Barracks and released with a citation to appear at Chittenden County court on June 11, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
He faces charges of DUI third offense, negligent operation and criminal driving with a suspended license.
