HAMDEN, NY — A 71-year-old New York City man was arrested after sheriff’s deputies found his disabled vehicle blocking a roadway with a forged inspection certificate.

Peter Odin was arrested Sunday afternoon following an investigation that began the day before, according to Delaware County Sheriff Craig S. DuMond.

On Saturday afternoon, deputies on patrol observed an unoccupied vehicle disabled on County Highway 26 in the Town of Hamden that was partially blocking the roadway.

Upon inspecting the vehicle, deputies found it had a forged inspection certificate displayed in the windshield.

Deputies identified Odin as the driver on Sunday afternoon.

Odin was issued uniform traffic tickets for displaying a forged inspection certificate, an unclassified misdemeanor, as well as parking on pavement and uninspected motor vehicle, all offenses of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

He was released on appearance tickets and traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hamden Court at a later date.
