Juveniles arrested on firearm charges in Fall River

FALL RIVER, MA — Two juveniles were arrested Saturday evening after police found them in possession of loaded firearms at a Center Street apartment.

Officers from the Patrol Bureau responded to a report of juveniles wearing ski masks and displaying a firearm from a second-floor apartment at approximately 8 p.m. April 25.

Upon arrival, officers observed a juvenile exiting the building who attempted to flee after being approached by police.

After a brief pursuit, officers followed the juvenile into the second-floor apartment and were granted entry by the resident.

Officers were directed to a bedroom where multiple juveniles were located.

Given the nature of the call, officers detained the individuals and conducted pat-frisks.

One juvenile was found in possession of a loaded Smith & Wesson Shield 9mm handgun.

With written consent from the resident, officers conducted a search of the bedroom and located a second loaded firearm, a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun, concealed among clothing.

Another juvenile admitted ownership of the second firearm.

Both individuals were determined to be 16 and 17 years old and not legally permitted to possess firearms.

Members of the Major Case Division and Crime Scene Unit responded to process and document the evidence.

The two juveniles were arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a license and possession of a loaded firearm without a license along with additional related offenses.
