ALBANY, NY — A man has been charged in connection with an assault that occurred Wednesday evening on Kate Street near Whitehall Road.
Officers responded to Kate Street near Whitehall Road around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday for reports of an assault.
Upon arrival, they located a 32-year-old male victim with a laceration above his eye, while a 30-year-old male had entered Albany Medical Center Hospital with a laceration to his arm.
Further investigation determined that an altercation had occurred between the two males.
During the incident, Darrin Brown, 30, of Albany, punched the window of the victim’s vehicle with his fist, causing him to cut his arm on the shattered glass.
Brown then picked up a glass bottle and threw it at the victim, striking him in the head.
The victim was treated on scene by the Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel for a laceration above his eye.
Brown has been charged with one count of assault in the second degree, one count of criminal mischief in the third degree and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
He was arraigned Thursday morning in Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
