MALTA, NY — A man was arrested Friday after stealing a vehicle left running in a store parking lot.
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a larceny complaint at 5:15 a.m. at the Stewart’s shop on Round Lake Road.
Investigation led to the arrest of Michael T. Garrick, 43, of Wells, for grand larceny in the 3rd degree, a class D felony.
Garrick is accused of stealing an unoccupied vehicle that had been left running in the store’s parking lot.
Deputies tracked the vehicle to the city of Cohoes, where it was found unoccupied.
The Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the New York State Police, Albany County Sheriff’s Office and Cohoes Police Department, located Garrick in the vicinity shortly thereafter.
He was arraigned before the Honorable Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. in the Malta Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail pending further proceedings.
