PATERSON, NJ — Detectives from the Wayne and Clifton police departments were in Paterson working jointly on an unrelated investigation when they spotted a suspect wanted in the robbery of Massola Jewelers on June 16.
The suspect had been recently identified as a result of the Wayne Police Investigative Division’s on-going investigation into the June robbery.
The detectives coordinated with the Paterson Police Department while they followed the suspect.
Officers with the Paterson Police Patrol Division were guided to the suspect’s location.
They moved in as the vehicle he was traveling in came to a stop and he stepped out.
The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.
