HAMILTON, NJ — Police responded to Denbigh Court at 4:24 a.m. on April 5 for a report of shots fired.
Officers located shell casings in the roadway and observed that several rounds had struck an occupied residence.
A review of surveillance video showed a black Chevrolet Corvette C8 leaving Denbigh Court at a high rate of speed after the shooting.
Earlier the same day, a black Chevrolet Corvette was stolen from Berlin Borough.
The stolen Corvette was later found abandoned in Galloway Township after the shooting.
Following an investigation, suspects were identified as a 17-year-old male from Hammonton and Antonio Martinez, 19, of Hammonton.
On July 2, criminal charges were signed against both subjects, including attempted murder, conspiracy, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of a firearm by a minor and additional related charges.
The 17-year-old was already lodged in the Harborfields Atlantic Youth Detention Center on unrelated charges, where he was served his juvenile criminal complaints.
Martinez was already lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on unrelated charges and was served with his criminal complaints.
These charges are merely accusations and not proof of guilt. In all criminal cases, a charged defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
