Shooting suspect sought in Newark

NEWARK, NJ — Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr., is asking for the public’s help identifying a man in connection with a shooting that injured a victim Tuesday.

Police officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 2:18 p.m. in the 200 block of West Runyon Street.

When they arrived, officers found a male victim lying on the floor of a mini-market suffering from three gunshot wounds.

Officers rendered aid until emergency medical services arrived.

They canvassed the area and located two .45-caliber spent casings.

Miranda urges anyone with information on the suspect’s identity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.

All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are confidential and could result in a reward.
