ST. JOHNSBURY, VT — A St. Johnsbury man was arrested on driving charges after a traffic stop on July 5.

An officer with the St. Johnsbury Police Department was conducting routine patrol on Caledonia Street at approximately 7:18 p.m. when he observed a blue Toyota Tundra being operated.

The officer recognized the operator as Scott Keithan and knew from prior law enforcement interactions that Keithan’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle in Vermont was civilly suspended.

A records check through dispatch confirmed the suspension.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle stopped in the area of 97 Costa Avenue.

During the investigation, officers learned that Keithan had active conditions of release prohibiting him from operating any motor vehicle on a public highway.

Keithan, 50, of St. Johnsbury, was taken into custody and transported to the St. Johnsbury Police Department for processing.

He was later released on a citation to appear in Caledonia Superior Court to answer to charges of operating after suspension and violation of conditions of release.
