Drug arrest in Verona

VERONA, PA — A Verona police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on Allegheny River Boulevard at 3:52 p.m. July 7.

During the investigation, officers identified one of the passengers as Kenneth Leonard, who was wanted on an outstanding drug warrant and was taken into custody.

During a search incident to arrest, officers recovered a large amount of suspected heroin concealed in Leonard’s shoe.

Leonard was transported to the Allegheny County Jail on the outstanding warrant with additional drug charges being filed.
