Teen rescued from Lake Erie Beach Park in Evans

EVANS, NY — A 15-year-old boy was pulled from the water at Lake Erie Beach Park after going underwater and failing to resurface Friday afternoon.

The Town of Evans Police Department responded to the park at approximately 3:31 p.m. July 3 for a report of the missing swimmer.

Park lifeguards spotted the juvenile and removed him from the water.

Lifeguards immediately began life-saving measures until additional emergency personnel arrived.

The teen, of Forestville, was transported by AMR Ambulance to Mercy Hospital for emergency medical treatment.

The incident remains under investigation by the Town of Evans Police Department.

Counseling services are available through the Lake Shore Central School District and Forestville Central School District for students, staff and families affected by the incident.
