WAYNE, NJ — Authorities are investigating after a body was discovered in a vehicle following a reported car fire.
Members of the Wayne Police Department responded to the area of 77 Willowbrook Boulevard on June 30, 2026, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Wayne Chief of Police Joseph Rooney.
When officers arrived, they found the body of an unidentified individual in the driver’s seat.
The deceased is pending an investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
Although the matter remains an active and ongoing investigation, there are no suspects being sought at this time, and there is no danger to the public, authorities said.
