Man charged with stolen vehicle in Red Hook

RED HOOK, NY — A New York City man faces multiple charges after police found him in a stolen vehicle.

Red Hook police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on Mill Road at approximately 2:05 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers interviewed the driver, Declan Kealy, 22, of New York City, and determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from New York City earlier that day.

Police discovered Kealy had an active bench warrant from a previous stolen vehicle incident.

He was also found in possession of a stolen wallet and credit cards belonging to another victim.

Kealy was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of stolen property and one misdemeanor count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

He was arraigned in Red Hook Town Court and sent to Dutchess County Jail on $7,500 cash bail.
