WATERBURY, CT — A Middletown man faces multiple charges after allegedly fleeing from police and striking a cruiser on June 24, 2026.
Officers from the Waterbury Police Department’s Crime Prevention Unit were assisting the Meriden Police Department with an investigation involving a vehicle reportedly involved in an armed robbery in Meriden and a shooting in Middletown earlier this month.
Officers located the vehicle in the area of Prospect Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
The vehicle attempted to flee and struck a police cruiser.
The driver was apprehended and identified as Justice Roman, 23, of Middletown.
During the investigation, officers seized ammunition, an AM M15 rifle, a Glock G19 9mm handgun, drug paraphernalia and 38.6 grams of cocaine.
Roman was charged with operating a drug factory, interfering with an officer, criminal possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, two counts of illegal transfer of a firearm, two counts of possession of a high-capacity magazine, two counts of carrying a pistol without a permit, possession of an assault weapon, two counts of weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of one half ounce or more of cocaine in free base form, reckless driving and driving without a license.
Roman is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
