JAY — A Westfield man is being held without bail after police say he placed a household member in fear of serious bodily injury during a disturbance in Jay.
Vermont State Police received a report of a family disturbance on Route 242 in Jay at about 10:46 p.m. Monday. Jordan Hemingway, 31, had fled the scene before troopers arrived, and initial efforts to locate him were unsuccessful, police said.
Hemingway was found and taken into custody without incident Tuesday morning.
He was transported to the Derby barracks for processing and lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility without bail.
He faces a charge of second-degree aggravated domestic assault and is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Orleans District Court.
The victim’s name was not released. Vermont State Police do not identify victims of domestic violence.
