RICHMONDVILLE, NY — An 18-year-old Schoharie resident has been arrested following an investigation into a residential burglary at the Candlewood Apartments.
On June 15 at approximately 1:42 p.m., deputies responded to a reported burglary at an apartment located at 125 Candlewood Lane.
Upon arrival, deputies met with property management staff who reported that surveillance footage captured an individual entering the victim’s apartment without permission.
The victim reported that several items had been stolen while he was asleep inside the residence, including a wallet containing identification and banking cards, prescription medications, and electronics belonging to another individual.
During the investigation, deputies reviewed surveillance footage that showed a male subject checking apartment doors in the building’s hallway before entering the victim’s apartment.
The subject was later identified as Max C. Shroh, 18, of Schoharie.
Deputies subsequently developed information regarding Shroh’s whereabouts and located him later that day in the Village of Cobleskill where he was taken into custody and transported to the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Shroh was charged with burglary in the second degree, two counts of grand larceny in the fourth degree, and petit larceny.
Following processing, Shroh was transported to the Centralized Arraignment Part Court for arraignment.
