Search warrant executed in Amesbury

AMESBURY, MA — Police executed a search warrant on Collins Avenue at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Amesbury police officers, along with officers from the Pepperell Police Department and the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council, conducted the search.

Chief Craig Bailey reported that his department received information about possible illegal firearms at a Collins Avenue residence.

The report came from Pepperell police, who were investigating a crime in their community involving a firearm.

That firearm, and possibly another, was reported to be at the Collins Avenue residence.

After an investigation by Amesbury police and Pepperell detectives, a judge signed a search warrant.

The NEMLEC Special Weapons and Tactics Unit executed the high-risk search warrant.

Officers searched the residence but no firearms were located.
