WARRINGTON, PA — Police have charged a Philadelphia man with stealing Yu-Gi-Oh! trading cards during three separate incidents at a Walmart store.
Felix Alexander Diaz Jr., 31, of Philadelphia, faces three counts of retail theft and three counts of receiving stolen property.
Warrington Police investigated the thefts on April 15 after receiving reports from Walmart loss prevention at 299 Valley Gate Drive.
Surveillance footage showed the same suspect stealing trading cards on three occasions, according to police.
The first theft occurred on Feb. 27 when the suspect selected three boxes of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, opened the packages and concealed the contents in his coat pocket before leaving without paying.
The merchandise was valued at $53.61.
The suspect returned on March 12 and stole three more boxes of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards valued at $53.61, police said.
On March 22, the suspect entered the store a third time and stole five boxes of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards worth $89.35.
Hilltown Township Police identified Diaz as the suspect on April 13.
The total value of stolen merchandise from the three incidents was $196.57.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 8.
Diaz and his attorney failed to appear, and all charges were held for Bucks County Common Pleas Court.
Diaz was arrested on June 3.
