Man arrested after fight in Bath

BATH, NY — A man was arrested after a physical altercation outside a hotel Thursday afternoon.

The Bath Police Department was dispatched to the Old National Hotel, 13 E. Steuben Street, at approximately 12:47 p.m. for a report of a physical fight outside.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a physical fight had occurred between two adult males over a property dispute.

The fight took place in the presence of a young child, with no regard for the safety of that child, according to police.

All parties involved are homeless in Bath and were placed at the Old National through public assistance, police said.

The parties reported prior issues with each other at a prior placement.

Mandell I. Davis, 25, of Bath, was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

Davis was processed and arraigned in Bath Village Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
