Fugitive arrested on murder charge in Lincoln

LINCOLN, RI — A North Providence man wanted for first-degree murder in New York was arrested Thursday morning by a multi-agency task force.

Antonio Jimenez, 46, of North Providence, was taken into custody at approximately 8:30 a.m. June 18, 2026.

Members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York City Police Department participated in the arrest.

Jimenez was arrested as a fugitive from justice from the State of New York for murder in the first degree.

The arrest was the result of an investigation by the Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Jimenez was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

He was arraigned as a fugitive from justice at Sixth Division District Court.
