Four arrested on drug charges in Avon

AVON, NY — Four people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Interstate 390 on June 16.

Deputy Jerry Pilkenton stopped a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 390 at approximately 9:21 p.m. after observing vehicle and traffic law violations, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.

The driver was identified as Thomas Lee, 44, of Wellsville, and three passengers were identified as Amanda Cheek, 42, of Wellsville, DeSean Kelly, 41, of Rochester, and Kerri Cobb, 38, of Wellsville.

The deputy conducted a roadside drug investigation and all four occupants were found to be in possession of crack cocaine and fentanyl, Dougherty said.

Cheek was charged with three counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree.

Lee was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and vehicle and traffic law violations.

Kelly was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

Cobb was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the second degree.

Lee, Kelly and Cobb were processed at the Livingston County Jail and released with appearance tickets returnable to Avon Town Court.

Cheek was arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part before Town of Geneseo Justice Houston and released on her own recognizance.
