Man arrested on child exploitation charges in Lake George

LAKE GEORGE, NY — State Police of Queensbury, with the assistance of the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, The Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, arrested Daniel A. Elkins, 36, of Lake George, for Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” felony, and Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” felony.

Elkins is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.

His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Lake George on June 9, 2026.

The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Elkins was arrested in the area of Beach Road in Lake George and transported to SP Queensbury for processing.

He was then transported to the Warren County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
