AUBURN, NY — A man was arrested June 14 after police say he kicked in the door of a residence on Clark Street and damaged property inside.
Officers with the Auburn Police Department were dispatched to an address on Clark Street in response to a burglary complaint.
Upon arrival, police discovered the suspect had fled the scene on foot.
Investigators identified the suspect as Raymond Portuondo Jr. of Auburn.
Police attempted to make contact with Portuondo at his residence multiple times with negative results.
Later that morning, the victim called police to report that Portuondo was walking by their residence.
Officers responded to the area, located Portuondo and took him into custody without incident.
Portuondo was charged with second-degree burglary, a class C felony, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
He was transported to the Cayuga County Jail for arraignment.
