Fatal UTV crash in Leicester

LEICESTER, VT — Vermont State Police are investigating a fatal all-terrain vehicle crash that occurred on Lake Dunmore Road.

Troopers from the New Haven Barracks were notified of a single-vehicle crash at approximately 4:33 p.m. June 16 on Lake Dunmore Road between Fern Lake Road and Red Gate Road.

The operator was identified as Craig Disorda, 50, of Leicester.

Police said Disorda was traveling south on Lake Dunmore Road when the UTV exited the roadway and struck a tree.

Disorda was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

He was transported to Rutland Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The crash occurred during clear weather and dry road conditions.

The 2018 Can-Am Defender sustained front-end damage.

Brandon Area Rescue Squad and Rutland Regional Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
