HIGHSPIRE, PA — A 41-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on charges of sexual abuse of children and criminal use of a communication facility.
Eric T. Maule, of Highspire, was taken into custody at his residence by Derry Township Police detectives who are part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Police said detectives conducted an investigation based on information received through their assignments to the task force.
Investigators learned Maule was downloading and disseminating child sexual abuse materials onto and from his computer and electronic storage devices, according to police.
Some of the images and videos being downloaded and shared were of very young children, police said.
Maule was charged with two counts of sexual abuse of children and one count of criminal use of a communication facility in consultation with the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office.
He was arraigned Wednesday.
