Man arrested on assault charge in Augusta

AUGUSTA, ME — A Clinton man was arrested following a stabbing investigation that began June 8, 2026, on Main Street in Clinton.

Daniel Gordon, 37, of Clinton, allegedly got into a physical altercation with a victim during which he presented a knife and stabbed the victim numerous times in the chest, according to the Clinton Police Department.

Gordon reportedly fled the scene on an on/off road dirt bike that was later determined to be stolen out of Somerset County.

Gordon was located in Augusta on the morning of June 9, 2026, with assistance from the Augusta Police Department.

He was transported to the Kennebec County Jail, where he is being held without bail on a charge of elevated aggravated assault.
