Man arrested on menacing charge in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY — A man was arrested after allegedly threatening a neighbor with what appeared to be a rifle during a dispute on the city’s north side.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Second Platoon responded to a reported neighbor dispute at around 8:30 p.m. June 8, 2026.

Upon investigation, police determined that Robert Overton Jr. threatened the victim and menaced the victim with what appeared to be a rifle.

Overton was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.

He is being held pending arraignment and is charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment.
