MEXICO, ME — An Oxford County Sheriff’s deputy arrested a man on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop on River Road.
Anthony Scott, 44, of Peru, was taken into custody at approximately 1:40 p.m. June 2 after a deputy stopped a vehicle for a minor traffic violation.
During the roadside investigation, the deputy observed one of the occupants attempting to conceal something on his person.
A K9 officer from the Rumford Police Department assisted with the search, and illegal narcotics were located.
Scott was arrested for trafficking in scheduled drugs and transported to the Oxford County Jail.
Deputies seized approximately 22.49 grams of methamphetamine, 4.6 grams of cocaine base, 4.4 grams of fentanyl and 3.7 grams of cocaine.
Scott has been released from the Oxford County Jail and currently has three active sets of bail conditions.
