STANFORD, NY — New York State Police in Poughkeepsie were dispatched by Dutchess County 911 to a reported residential structure fire at a private residence on Trestle Lane on June 4, 2026, at approximately 2:58 p.m.
A 65-year-old female was reported to be trapped inside the residence.
Upon arrival, troopers and members of the East Clinton Fire Department immediately initiated rescue efforts and safely removed the female through a rear window.
Four dogs were also rescued from the residence.
The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The New York State Police were assisted by the Stanford Fire Department, East Clinton Fire Department, Pine Plains Fire Department, Millbrook Fire Department, Pleasant Valley Fire Department, West Clinton Fire Department, Union Vale Fire Department and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office.
