Child rescued from pool in Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY, MA — Police and fire departments responded to a report of an unresponsive child in a pool at an apartment complex Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the Balsam Place Apartments at 100 Balsam Place at 5:51 p.m. June 5 after bystanders pulled the child from the water.

Bystanders had already begun CPR when first responders arrived on scene.

Firefighters took over life-saving efforts and transported the child to a local hospital.

A preliminary investigation found no signs of foul play, but the incident remains under investigation.

Police reported Friday night that the child, a 6-year-old boy, was in stable condition at Children’s Hospital in Boston.
