MONTGOMERY, NY — A Maybrook man was arrested June 4 on multiple felony charges following a domestic incident.
Jerry Carrasquillo, 46, of Maybrook, was charged with kidnapping in the second degree, a class B felony.
He also faces three counts of criminal contempt in the first degree, class E felonies, and two counts of aggravated criminal contempt, class D felonies.
Carrasquillo was additionally charged with assault in the third degree, a class A misdemeanor.
The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Montgomery began investigating after receiving a report of a domestic incident at a residence on Prospect Avenue in the Village of Maybrook.
The investigation revealed that Carrasquillo unlawfully restrained and held a 47-year-old female victim against her will inside the residence.
Responding troopers safely removed the victim from the home and took Carrasquillo into custody without incident.
Carrasquillo was transported to State Police Montgomery for processing.
He was arraigned in the Town of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash, a $50,000 partially secured bond, or a $200,000 secured bond on the kidnapping charge.
On the assault charge, bail was set at $25,000 cash, a $25,000 partially secured bond, or a $100,000 secured bond.
Carrasquillo is scheduled to return to the Town of Newburgh Court on June 9 at 5:30 p.m.
