CABOT, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a man on suspicion of driving under the influence following a crash on U.S. Route 2.
Police received a report of a crash at 8:42 p.m. June 5, 2026.
Upon arrival, troopers identified the operator as Sanjiv Rimal, 61, of Essex Junction.
While speaking with Rimal, troopers detected indicators of impairment.
Rimal was driving a 2013 Subaru Impreza that was totaled in the crash.
Rimal was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
Following an investigation, Rimal was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
Rimal was transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
He was released with a citation to answer to the charge.
The road conditions were dry and the weather was cloudy at the time of the crash.
