CATSKILL, NY — The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Catskill, in collaboration with the Troop F Computer Crimes Unit, arrested a man on June 2, 2026, on charges related to child sexual exploitation.

David S. Wood, 51, of Durham, was charged with promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 17 years of age, a Class D felony, and possessing or accessing an obscene sexual performance by a child less than 16 years of age, a Class E felony.

The arrest stems from a CyberTip received in September 2024 from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The information led investigators to obtain and execute a search warrant for Wood and his electronic devices.

The investigation determined that Wood was in possession of, and promoted, images and videos depicting the sexual exploitation of children, including children as young as three years old.

Wood was arrested and transported to State Police Catskill, where he was processed without incident.

He was arraigned on June 2, 2026, in the Town of Cairo Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash, $200,000 bond, or a $300,000 partially secured bond.

Wood is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
