Pedestrian killed in crash in Bradford

BRADFORD, ME — A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Route 221 on Tuesday.

The Penobscot Regional Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at approximately 12:40 p.m.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with members of the Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team and Drone Team.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Glenburn Ambulance and the Bradford Fire Department.

Preliminary findings indicate that a sedan traveling south on Route 221 struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway.

Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, an adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No names are being released at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
