CORTLANDVILLE, NY — Authorities are seeking the public’s help to identify a man found dead along the Tioughnioga River.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an unresponsive person at approximately 10:16 a.m. May 29 in the Town of Cortlandville.
Deputies found a white male deceased on the ground near the river bank.
Investigators do not suspect foul play and say there is no threat to the community.
The man’s identity has not been confirmed.
The New York State Police Forensic Identification Unit, the Cortland County Coroner’s Office and TLC Ambulance assisted at the scene.
