CLINTON, NY — Oneida County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies responded to a report of a suspicious device on Utica Street on Friday.

Deputies located what appeared to be an older rocket propelled grenade, according to Sheriff Robert Maciol.

Deputies secured the immediate area and contacted the State Police Bomb Disposal Unit out of an abundance of caution.

The bomb disposal unit responded to the scene and determined the round was a training round and not a live round.

The device has since been removed by the State Police Bomb Disposal Unit.
