Man arrested on motor vehicle burglary charge in Glen Ridge

GLEN RIDGE, NJ — A Hammonton man was arrested early May 28, 2026, after allegedly attempting to break into a vehicle on Clark Street.

Police responded to the street at approximately 2 a.m. after a resident reported observing a male attempting to enter their vehicle in their driveway.

Officer Addu located a male suspect matching the caller’s description near the intersection of Hillside Avenue.

Sgt. Medico met with the victim and corroborated that the suspect had attempted to enter the victim’s vehicle.

Brian Hoarth, 48, of Hammonton, was arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary to a motor vehicle.

Hoarth also had outstanding warrants from Fair Lawn, Brooklawn and Voorhees.

He was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and charged before being remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
