MIDDLETOWN, CT — A 29-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting incident was arrested at a hotel in Poughkeepsie, New York, following a multi-day search.

Christopher Lane, of Middletown, was taken into custody Friday at the Hyatt Place hotel on South Road in Poughkeepsie.

Police said Lane discharged a firearm multiple times at an individual in the area of Westlake Drive and Forest Glen Circle on May 19 during a domestic violence-related incident.

The shots missed the intended target but caused damage to other property and residences in the area, according to police.

Other vehicles and pedestrians were in the area at the time of the shooting.

Lane fled on foot into a wooded area between Westlake Drive and Smith Street following the incident.

A large-scale search operation was launched that evening but Lane was not located.

Middletown detectives continued the investigation over the following days with assistance from multiple agencies.

The FBI New Haven CAST team provided information on Lane’s location, leading investigators to Poughkeepsie.

Lane was found in possession of a handgun and live ammunition at the time of his arrest.

He will be extradited to Connecticut to face charges including criminal attempt to commit assault in the first degree and multiple weapons charges.

The Middletown Police Department was assisted by the FBI New Haven CAST, Connecticut State Police, FBI New York Violent Crime Task Force and Town of Poughkeepsie Police.
