5 arrested after fights break out at carnival in Florence

FLORENCE, NJ — The Florence Township Police Department and the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Roebling Carnival on Wednesday following reports of several fights breaking out.

Five individuals were arrested as a result of the evening’s disturbances.

A 14-year-old female was charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction, and failure to disperse.

A second 14-year-old female was charged with disorderly conduct.

A 16-year-old female was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

A 15-year-old female was charged with disorderly conduct.

A 20-year-old individual was charged with disorderly conduct.

All juveniles were transported to Florence Township Police Department headquarters, where they were processed and released to their guardians pending their scheduled court dates.

The 20-year-old individual was also processed and released.

One officer suffered an injury during the effort to break up the fights and was treated at an area hospital and has since been released.

The investigation into the incidents is continuing, and additional charges are expected to follow.

Township officials and the Police Department have canceled the remaining dates of the Roebling Carnival.
