Man arrested on DUI charge in Sutton

SUTTON, VT — A Lyndon man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash early Monday morning.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks were notified of the crash on Calendar Brook Road at approximately 3:29 a.m. May 24, 2026.

Troopers responded to the scene and located a 2015 Ford F-150 operated by Jackson G. Mitchell III, 46, of Lyndon.

The vehicle was totaled in the crash.

As troopers spoke with Mitchell, indicators of impairment were detected, police said.

Mitchell was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

Mitchell was later issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division and released.

Weather conditions were clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash.

Mitchell was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.
