HEMPSTEAD, NY — A two-car collision on the Meadowbrook State Parkway early Monday morning resulted in serious injuries and the arrest of a Westbury man on multiple charges.
Troopers responded to the northbound parkway in the area of M5 at approximately 2:48 a.m. on May 24, 2026, for reports of a motor vehicle collision.
Investigation revealed that Deondre L. Clark, 35, of Westbury, was operating a 2025 Toyota Camry at an unsafe speed when he struck the rear end of a 2015 Honda Pilot.
The Honda Pilot was occupied by its operator and three passengers.
One passenger was ejected from the vehicle and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.
All other occupants were evaluated for minor non-life-threatening injuries.
Clark was arrested and charged with first-degree assault, a class B felony; second-degree assault, a class D felony; driving while intoxicated, an unclassified misdemeanor; and reckless driving.
The investigation is ongoing.
