NORTHFIELD, VT — A 70-year-old man died following a single-vehicle crash on VT Route 12 on May 23, 2026.
Vermont State Police responded to 1379 VT Route 12 S at approximately 3:29 p.m. for a reported crash.
Preliminary investigation revealed Jose R. Sanchez, of Roxbury, was traveling north on VT Route 12 when he lost control of his 2024 Ford Bronco Sport and exited the eastbound portion of the roadway.
Sanchez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
