ROYALTON, VT — A trooper assigned to the Royalton barracks observed a car traveling northbound on Interstate 89 near mile marker 17.8 in excess of the posted 65 mph speed limit on May 23, 2026, at 5:56 p.m.
The vehicle’s speed was measured at 108 mph.
The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Megha Patel, 26, of Newton, Massachusetts.
Patel was issued a ticket for speeding and a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court Windsor Criminal Division on July 21, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
